Well, to be fair, Liechtenstein is only about 16 miles in length, but yes - three countries in a single day.
Our stop in Liechtenstein was nice. We were cycling to a restaurant we'd picked for lunch when we happened upon a local festival that had food trucks and a variety of stands for fruit, fresh drinks and plenty of food. We ate our lunches at a nice quiet park adjacent to the festivities.
Our rides are basically in the valleys between very abrupt, steep and lush green mountains, so the views are spectacular. It's so interesting to see the commuter trains traveling through the pristine valley, we just don't have them at home, but they seem to really make sense. They are quiet, efficient, look great and go through every town..
Today we saw many cyclists, people flying gliders, para-sailing, horseback riders on the route, children playing at the festival and everyone has been super friendly.
We arrived at our hotel, which is at the base of a castle. It's amazing really, with incredible views of the valley. The guy, Rudy, who checked us in invited us to use the company car to drive into the next town for dinner. So we even got a free car for the evening!
What an amazing adventure so far!!!
